Since 1924, Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Toastmasters International has helped people of all backgrounds build confidence as speakers and leaders.

Toastmasters teaches how to become better presenters and leaders:
- Give better sales presentations
- Hone their management skills
- Work better with fellow employees
- Develop and present ideas more effectively
- Offer constructive criticism
- Accept feedback more objectively

We meet on the second and fourth Friday of every month. Meetings start at 1:30 PM and end at 3:00 PM in the conference room at the AmCham Chile office. It is located in the Mariott Hotel, Av. Presidente Kennedy 5735, office 201.

President's Welcome

Role filled by Gabriella Schulten.

Toastmaster

The Toastmaster prepares the agenda of the day, and leads the meeting. The Toastmaster introduces the members of his/her team for the day with the help of the Master Evaluator. It is the Toastmasters duty to make sure the meeting begins and ends on time.

Role filled by Claudia Sandoval.

General Evaluator

"General Evaluator" is in charge of the evaluation team. He/She will call on the team to briefly explain their roles.

Role filled by Francisco Varas.

Grunt Counter

"Grunt Counter" tallys the filler words, long pauses, and repeated words used by everyone who speaks at the meeting. During the evaluation portion of the meeting, the "Grunt Counter" will give a report.

Grammarian

"Grammarian" will listen to everyone who speaks for good and bad uses of English or Spanish. The Grammarian should also make notes on great descriptive phrases and strive to provide a suggestion for any grammatical mistakes. Additionally, the Grammarian gives the Word of the Day and tracks its use throughout the meeting.

Timer

"Timer" will explain the timing lights and signals, as well as give the time limits for table topics, speeches and evaluations.

"Speaker" will prepare a speech from one of the Toastmasters manuals.

Speaker #2

"Speaker" will prepare a speech from one of the Toastmasters manuals.

Speaker #3

"Speaker" will prepare a speech from one of the Toastmasters manuals.

Table Topics Master

"Table Topics Master" will prepare questions for members to answer, as an Impromptu speaking.

General Evaluator

"General Evaluator" leads the evaluation portion of the meeting by calling for reports from the evaluators, Timer, Grunt Counter, Grammarian and Word of the Day Presenter. "General Evaluator" will also give insights about the meeting as a whole.

Evaluator #1

"Evaluator #1" will evaluate "Speaker #1".

Evaluator #2

"Evaluator #2" will evaluate "Speaker #2".

Role filled by Juan Pablo Vera.

Evaluator #3

"Evaluator #3" will evaluate "Speaker #3".

Role filled by Eric Pitzer.

Evaluator #4

"Evaluator #4" will evaluate "Speaker #4".

Grammarian and Word of the Day Reports

"Grammarian" and the "Word of the Day Presenter" will report on use of the word of the day as well as good and poor grammar usage from everyone who spoke at the meeting.

Grunt Counter Report

"Grunt Counter" will give a report on the members usage of filler words, repeats and long pauses for everyone who spoke at the meeting.

Timer Report

Timer will give report on time management

General Evaluator Final Remarks

"General Evaluator" gives final remarks and returns conduct of the meeting to the Toastmaster

Toastmaster

"Toastmaster" gives final remarks and returns conduct of the meeting to the Presiding Officer.

President's Final Remarks

"President" makes any announcements and any other remarks for the day and closes the meeting.
