1 day face to face conference sponsored by the British Council Aptis for Teachers Action Research Award Scheme (ARAS), the conference will be held in Santiago, Chile, on 19 March 2016. This will be the first of what is hoped to be a series of annual conferences, to be held in a different Latin American country each year.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The conference features teacher-research, i.e. 'research initiated and carried out by teachers into issues of importance to them in their own work’. It is hoped that this - and the ensuing series of conferences -- will serve to showcase teacher-research in Chile and in other Latin American countries for an international audience, specifically in order to promote the further development of teacher-research as a valuable form of continuing professional development across Latin America.
Teacher-researchers in schools and other educational institutions across Latin America, as well as teacher educators who have the opportunity of supporting research by teachers.
Presentations of research by Chilean Champion Teachers, introduced by Paula Rebolledo
Presentations of research by ARAS teachers, introduced by Richard Smith.
Final panel discussion, chaired by Paula Rebolledo and Richard Smith, featuring Melba Libia Cárdenas, Inés K. Miller and representative teacher-researchers.
